Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden celebrates Heritage Day on August 3 with a full day of Japanese cultural experiences. Events include a Lion Dance performance, HIBIKIYA Taiko Drumming, and an origami demonstration by local experts. Admission is $20 and includes a drink and cookie. Celebrate Heritage Day at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden on August 3 from 9 AM to 5 PM! Immerse yourself in a day filled with Japanese culture, performances, and hands-on experiences in the beautiful garden setting. Admission is $20 per person and includes a drink, cookie, and full event access. Enjoy a vibrant Lion Dance performance from 12:00 PM – 12:15 PM at the Bunka Centre, followed by the powerful sounds of HIBIKIYA Taiko Drumming from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM in the Garden. Then, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, join local experts Lev and Laurie at the Bunka Centre for a special Origami Demonstration and learn how to create beautiful traditional paper art. Bring your family and friends to experience an unforgettable celebration of Japanese heritage, music, art, and community at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden!

National Indigenous Peoples Day at Fort Whoop-Up

National Indigenous Peoples Day celebration at Fort Whoop-Up features demonstrations, hands-on activities, and cultural programming for all ages. Experience Blackfoot hand games, archery, hide tanning, powwow dancing, storytelling, and indigenous craft-making. The Helen Schuler Nature Centre offers information on medicinal wildflowers, and wagon rides are available. Free admission all day.
